This was exactly what I was experiencing when I decided to create this superb habit tracker spreadsheet.
The tracker is designed to be used in Google sheets so you will need to set up a free account. Unfortunately it will not work in Excel so please only purchase it if you intend to use it in Google Sheets.
Upon purchase you will be send a pdf document which includes the link to the sheet and also instructions on how to use. Its an extremely simple spreadsheet so please do not worry if you are not an expert.
